Design Encounters: A Weekend at the Hoom Open House Pop-Up

Design Encounters: A Weekend at the Hoom Open House Pop-Up

As an interior designer, I find joy in spaces that inspire and transform, spaces that tell a story. On June 15th and 16th, Twenty Third by Deanne had the pleasure of joining Hoom and other brands at the Open House Pop-Up at Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, Makati. It was a weekend filled with design, creativity, and meaningful interactions, making it an unforgettable event for anyone passionate about art, interiors, and home decor.

The Philippine headquarters being in Cagayan De Oro has a personal connection to Lim. “Cagayan de Oro is my hometown and this is where my journey began, so it felt right that it is the place where we house our primary operations. However, our vision extends far beyond the confines of Cagayan de Oro; our goal is to extend our reach and cater to the diverse tastes and preferences of the entire Philippines.” CEO and interior designer Deanne Ashley Lim says.

A Curated Design Experience Celebrating Young Brands

The Open House Pop-Up was a celebration of young brands and their innovative creations. The event catered to emerging designers and businesses, giving them a platform to shine and showcase their unique products. We were joined by a variety of brands including Hoom, (Super) Natural Wines, Artlet Studio, Nooke, Forewoman, Saan Saan Candles, Flora Nora, and more. Each brand brought its own distinct flair, contributing to a diverse and vibrant atmosphere.

The space, styled by Hojas (@hojas____hojas) was meticulously curated, with each booth showcasing a unique blend of contemporary and classic designs. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the carefully selected furniture pieces to the thoughtfully arranged accessories. It was a true feast for the eyes, and I found myself constantly inspired by the innovative designs and clever use of space.

We were able to bring in products from our brand, Twenty Third by Deanne, designed by us and created by local artisans worldwide, from Turkey, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Each piece told a unique story and showcased the incredible craftsmanship of the artisans behind them. It was heartwarming to see how our products resonated with the visitors, each finding something that spoke to them personally.

Engaging with Fellow Design Enthusiasts

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to meet and engage with fellow design enthusiasts. As I walked through the pop-up, I had the chance to chat with many visitors who shared my passion for interior design. It was refreshing to exchange ideas, discuss trends, and hear about their own design journeys. These interactions were not only inspiring but also reaffirmed the importance of community in the design world.

The most memorable part of the Hoom Pop-Up was witnessing the transition from an online presence to a physical space. Knowing that people traveled from afar just to visit our pop-up meant a lot to us. It was a humbling and deeply gratifying experience to see our online community come to life in person, and meeting people and interacting with them face-to-face was the best experience. It underscored the importance of personal connections in the design world, and reinforced our commitment to creating meaningful spaces.

What truly set the Hoom Pop-Up apart was the personal touch that permeated the entire event. The organizers had gone above and beyond to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. There were cozy seating areas where visitors could relax and chat, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was clear that a lot of thought and care had gone into every aspect of the pop-up, making it a truly special experience.

Overall, the experience was more than just a showcase of beautiful products; it was a celebration of design, creativity, and community. As an interior designer, I left the event feeling inspired and energized, with a notebook full of ideas and a heart full of gratitude. Meeting design-minded individuals, discovering new brands, and learning from the whole experience made for a memorable weekend.

I look forward to seeing how the Hoom brand continues to evolve and create spaces that inspire. The team and I are so grateful for the chance to be part of this pop-up, and if you ever have the chance to visit or attend one of their events, I highly recommend it. It’s a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do – to create beautiful, meaningful spaces that enhance our lives and bring us joy.

Until next time, happy designing!
